I worked a lot of hours this week. This last month we were extra busy with so much going on. Yesterday I could hardly move yet I had to do a few things. Laundry and groceries and a little cleaning. The two older kids helped a ton. But the most important to me was to give Kodiak some attention.
Kodi was crying when I got home Friday night late from work. I think he was still hungry even after kids gave him supper. But he was also probably feeling the rainy weather. But it wasn’t just rain we were also getting snow. I took kids for a little ride and got more food for Kodi. He ate it and then when we got home he snuggled with me and went to sleep. We all were exhausted.
I had trouble sleeping… Work related things that I couldn’t shut out because I was concerned for someone. Then I heard a thump. I got up and found Kodi in a ball on the floor sound asleep. I picked him up and put him back in his bed. He grabbed my hand and pulled it up under his chin. I had to sit there until his little hands relaxed enough for me to pull away. It took quite awhile. I was cold, tired and went back to bed and slept.
Saturday Symone and Colt took care of Kodi and fed him. Then came and woke me up. We went to run errands and get food. It was boring and uneventful.
However, I told kids about what someone told me at work about how their kids hamster got out and is in the wall and the cats are going crazy… My kids eyes got huge! We never did have hamsters or gerbals… 🙂 frogs, bunnies, fish, horses, pigeon, partridge babies…
Anyway, the slow-paced day was good for us all. Kodi was happy to be home and he was Mr. Blanket head again. He ate a ton of food again. He cried once and hit his eye. But the other thing was he wanted just to hang out and cuddle with me. He’d curl up in a little ball and in my arms just rest and giggle. He was playing with the hair on his head like he just discovered it. Then he would touch my head. He was silly.
We needed that day home to rest up a bit. He went to sleep a little later than usual but he wanted the blanket on him. When Symone took him from me to take him upstairs he grabbed the blanket. Such a silly boy.
I was in my room in bed and saw the flashing lights. It lit up my entire room. Worse than disco lights. It was blue lightning flashing… Symone took the photo… It was making us dizzy. We looked out and it was a police car that pulled another car over. Ugggg!!!
Now today begins another day… I’m tired still!!! So is Kodiak. He’s still sleeping and it’s almost 9:00 am.
We have some fun things in the works… Stay tuned!
