THE BOX FORT!

First… I have to show you what a big box will do for a kid like Colt… well and Kodiak too. Monday when they were supposed to be cleaning… Well Colt built this fort… out of boxes…

Oh! and I got a text at work telling me he cut himself… Grrrr! But after they texted the photo of the cut I realized the kid really didn’t get all that hurt and it was not necessary for a doctor so I told him to put the knife away.

Well before Nana and Papa got up here Colt just had to finish his project. And when my dad slept in the basement because then Kodi doesn’t wake him up…

Colt decided he was going to sleep in the basement in his box fort. And he did! For now I’m letting it exist… However…. 🙂

Let’s see… where was I? OH! Yes! So we actually got quite a bit of snow.

My mom put the peppermint on Kodiak’s temples on Tuesday and he was happy all day. This storm at this level usually has him on and off crying and at times even curled up on the couch. But he was happy! A little bit of a trouble maker maybe but happy!

WHAT TUESDAY AM LOOKED LIKE... ALMOST A WHITE OUT AT POINTS!

My dad came to my clinic and fixed my tire…

THIS WAS IN MY TIRE?

WOW! It was a huge screw in my tire!!!

Colt had to help him too.

The snow was amazing…

I was wishing I could be out snapping photos.

THIS WAS ONE OF TWO THAT I TOOK :-(
THIS WAS ONE OF TWO THAT I TOOK 🙁

But again that was not an option.

We had a very busy day and evening.

Wednesday brought some other fun things as well. We met with the sweetest kindest attorney ever. Jennifer O’Neill is on amazing person. She got us set up with Kodi’s trust fund situation that makes me feel better about the little guy. You can look at my about pages to find out more details. I was asked “How hard was that?’ and my reply was very truthful. “On my part not hard at all. Jennifer and her team made it so easy and simple to understand. She did all the work and I’m sure took quite awhile. But I didn’t have to do anything.” I would recommend her to anyone that needs any type of assistance for trust funds or special needs trusts.

We got supper and enjoyed our last night together… We told jokes, giggled, Papa fixed the 3 broken chairs and we had a ton of laughs.

20130307-213829.jpgOn my way to work today the trees looked like pretzels dipped in white chocolate…20130307-213814.jpg

Then I texted the group and told them when they went out and on their way to GG’s to make sure to take photos!!!20130307-213548.jpg20130307-213554.jpg

I told them it looks like they were dipped in white Chocolate… Symone said “YUM”

The trees were so amazing by the river…

My kids really do know how to get some amazing photos…

My kids took these lovely photos crossing the bridge on the way to see GG Dorothy.

I really do think they look like pretzels dipped in White Chocolate… That frost was very thick… Makes me wonder what it would taste like!!!

I was at work today and was surprised to see standing in front of me my mom, and two boys. They were on way back from visiting my mom’s mom (GG Dorothy) most of the day and my grandma I’m sure loved to see 3 of her great grand-kids as well. They love to go see her. Anyway, it was so nice they stopped where I work and I got to give my parents a hug goodbye.

KODIAK ALL SET TO GO AND PLAY IN THE SNOW!
KODIAK ALL SET TO GO AND PLAY IN THE SNOW!

They took my kids home and packed up and left… It was nice they were up for my kids sake this week… They did not have to be cooped up all day.20130307-214800.jpg

Speaking of yesterday the kids took Kodi sledding…

Well he couldn’t walk in the deep snow up the steep hill so instead he crawled…20130307-214839.jpg

20130307-214828.jpgbut then…20130307-214813.jpg

20130307-214850.jpgwell he decided that was too much work. So they came in.

I have some work to do and we might have sleet/freezing rain…this weekend!

shoot… that is not in our plans!!!

“Go away sleet/freezing rain and come again NEVER! Please send SNOW instead!!!”

Colt is making these wrist bands out of rope…

well they are quite good… He wants to start selling them for Kodiak’s benefit…

so stay tuned…

we will add his wrist bands and other things soon!

THE VERY LAST PHOTO AT THE END IS A PHOTO I TOOK AT SOME POINT THIS WEEK…

IT LOOKS SO PEACEFUL AND CALMING AND BEAUTIFY IN IT’S STRANGE WAY!

See just looking at it now makes me very sleepy!!! I wonder why?20130307-215233.jpg

I have to go to bed. My allergies all week are horrible and I need to rest. It’s settling in my chest and voice. 🙁

  1. Oh mom it was uncomfortable in the fort it is to small 🙁 but fun 🙂

  2. Teresa Dafft

Hope you feel better…glad the peppermint oil is working!

  3. The landscape looks like “winter wonderland” and some nice shots. What fun Colt must have had sleeping in his box fort. The cardboard box reminds me of when I was a kid and we played in a large cardboard refrigerator box. (But, today if you buy a refrigerator it comes with no box, just unloaded from a big delivery truck).,..

    • Yes we had those boxes too… Kodi gets pull-ups sent to house and we get bombarded with all the boxes… So I ok’d him building this… But I’m afraid it’s just going to get messier now.

  4. What an awesome fort!! I have some great memories of taking all the cushions off the couches in the living room, carefully balancing them into walls, throwing blankets over the top, using the frames of the couhes and other furniture as supports and other walls and turning the entire living room floor into a giant fort! Good times. 😀

    • You had an awesome mother. My mom let us build tents. Not all moms lets kids do that. It’s good for kids to have that kind of play and imagination. I remember making a huge one that had rooms and hallways… We got to leave it up for a week. It was in the basement. My mom saw how much work we put into it. My kids do things like that as well. I try to find my Colten things to do… So this was good for him. 🙂

      • Sometimes I wish I could still take my living room apart and create a different world out of it… I wonder what I could create now.

        • Well, go for it… Your wife might think your crazy… Or your cats might freak out. Or have a kid. Then you can have all kinds of fun!

          • Good plan. I think I’ll try the kiddo thing first… don’t need to have the wife thinking I’m crazy right now. Hmm, though she might already.
(Kiddo is due in about a week. Can’t wait, can’t wait!)

          • So cool!!! It will be a little bit but kids LOVE tents!!!
            Congrats on a munchkin!!!
