A day off but no time for rest!

We all love it when Nana and Papa come to visit… They make everything so much better to have family near and just help with decisions… Being the only adult around here that is sometimes the most exhausting thing… But when they are here it makes it all easier on the mind…

Last night the kids have to play the iPad of Nana’s… go figure. But the sweet conversations with everyone and relaxing atmosphere is always welcome.  Papa and Colt camped out in the FREEZING basement. While Kodi was tucked into his bed the girls were all up stairs on 2nd floor… it was much warmer… It got cold last night -10 here and we were warm in our little beds. Kodi blessed us all by sleeping until 8:15 am… YEAH! Then he started head banging in his bed… I tried to wake up as I heard him but my achy muscles didn’t want to move… slowly everyone got up… We kind of vegged out a bit then I made breakfast… my famous eggs (as my kids call it) without the peppers… and bacon… I had helpers in the kitchen… Nana and kiddies… Kodi already had his special oatmeal breakfast and meds so eggs were his snack and he really didn’t eat them just kept signing “more” and stuffing his mouth full of eggs and bacon… He would not stay seated at the table… He was wearing the angry birds mask and he looked quite angry at times this am.. It was sunny but he began to hit his eyes.  Papa ended up with the eggs all over him and Kodi when Kodi spit half of what was in his mouth out.

Papa took us for a drive to get mail and gas in truck and to listen to the squealing brakes in my truck… we can hear it but poor Papa can not… Hmmmm! He even got out side and listened and can’t hear them… I think I will use my iPhone and record it and then turn up the sound and see if he can hear it then… Poor Papa!!! Then we got home and I cut Colt’s hair… How many minutes?  Papa timed it… Then it was Kodiak’s turn… towel on the chair, stripped down to pull-up and socks and the cape wrapped around him and he started to giggle.  He knows what comes after the fact so he begins to giggle… I could tell already this was not the best day for a hair cut. He was already agitated but everything was out… Poor little guy… I used the clippers as much as I could.  Then I ended up cutting his neck… SHOOT!!!…. I’m so sorry baby!!! I really tried. We did our best with Nana trying to hold him and then he kept giggling and getting off the chair… well it’s a little shorter and I didn’t risk using scissors today… But then he got his long 1 hour bath.  He was so happy and delighted and he didn’t head bang in the bath tub. But now the clouds are moving in and there is snow moving in.  I put his drops and ointment in and it seems to help… However, he’s giggling but then wails on his left eye and slams his head.  Hope Symone you don’t get a huge bruise on your leg… so sorry baby!!!

Now we are making homemade multigrain pizzas (click on link for recipe) for supper.

After supper we are off to be with friends this evening.

The kids are unhappy they start school tomorrow… I’m doing paperwork that has to get done and laundry… I’d like to get caught up on all my chores so that we can have some relaxing time the next two evenings with Nana and Papa…

I don’t normally post on a Tuesday… too busy so this is a rare occasion.

Love to all my family and friends and thanks for checking in… 🙂
